Bhaswati Deb Memorial Centre for Higher Education (BDMCHE) is run and managed by the Trust named Bhaswati Deb Memorial Trust, formed in the year 2011 with the honest objective of augmenting the memory of a young scholar , Bhaswati Deb, who left for her heavenly abode at a very tender age. Dr. (Mrs.) Bhaswati Deb, by profession, was an Assistant Professor of Mathematics in a reputed college in Silchar, Assam.
The Centre aims at honoring Bhaswati's spirit of helping others and spearheading her teachings and thoughts for easing Higher Education through moral as well as infrastructural support. The Centre based in a prime location in Silchar, Assam, started its journey forward in the year 2011. The BDMCHE was ceremonially inaugurated by His Excellency, the Governor of Assam, Shri J B Patnaik. On 5h of March 2012. Upholding the principle, Individual culture of reason and learning is indivisible from the world beyond the campus, the Centre attempts to grow as a diverse and socially responsible learning community, providing high quality education and equal opportunity for all with highest standards of excellence in teaching, research, creative expression and service to the community. We coordinate a network of higher education researchers and provide a forum for dialogue among the different structures, stakeholders and constituents in higher education. A non-hierarchical, flexible management style combined with modern information technology and outsourcing expertise within academia and steering committees, places BDMCHE in a unique position to respond to higher education. We provide graduation and post-graduation Degrees as well as Diploma programs in distance education and also in face-to-face mode that supports the region's high demand for and critical shortage of professions. BDMCHE is a center of learning committed to the highest quality educational experience for all of its students and to the development of a
diverse intellectual and cultural community.

 

BDMCHE added a new feather to its cap when the United Nations Reading Library &
Information Center was opened in its campus on 28 May 2014 by Mr. Rajeev Chandran,
National Information Officer of United Nation Information Center (India & Bhutan), New
Delhi in presence of a host of other dignitaries. This will immensely benefit those who are
interested in knowing UN matters for their self content and for research purposes.
